Dr. Nygard has close to two decades working in the mental health field. She is the Director of Doctoral Intern Program and Lead Psychologist at Lomi Psychotherapy Clinic. In this position, Dr. Nygard hires, trains, and supervises doctoral level interns and has managed the Medicare program. She has seven years’ experience supervising interns in non-profits and at a residential treatment center for adolescents.
Along with her work at Lomi, Dr. Nygard maintains a private practice with a focus on eating disorder treatment for adult and adolescents that also have co-occurring mental health diagnoses. She has provided therapy services for adolescents in residential treatment, students on a college campus and non-public high school, and adults, couples, adolescents and families at a community mental health clinic.
Dr. Nygard has provided eating disorder education to students and medical professionals, and was lead facilitator for eating disorder support groups. She also has been a mediator for juvenile offenders and their victims, grief counselor and suicide prevention counselor.
Dr. Nygard lives in Sonoma County and enjoys the outdoor activities the county has to offer.
