Dr. Jon received 5 years of clinical training as a doctoral intern at the Lomi Clinic before becoming a Licensed Psychologist. He enjoyed the depth of his training and experience in mindfulness-based somatic psychotherapy. Dr. Jon currently provides psychotherapy services for Lomi clients and Clinical Supervision in Lomi’s Doctoral Internship Program, in addition to his private psychotherapy practice. Before his work at Lomi, he was Manager of the Wellness and Advocacy Center, a peer-run day program for adults living with mental health challenges. He was a Peer Support Specialist on Sonoma County Behavioral Health Department's Mobile Support Team where he provided follow up support to people who experienced mental health emergencies. Dr. Jon has been a volunteer peer group facilitator for Men Evolving Non-violently since 2012. Before entering the mental health field, he was a firefighter and EMT for several years and has a background in teaching and youth development. Dr. Jon's dissertation was entitled Healing Complex Trauma Through Relationship and since 2018 he has been treating psychotherapy clients who have experienced trauma and PTSD. Other areas of clinical interest and focus include struggles with anger/violence, anxiety, depression, suicidality, and he enjoys working with LGBTQ+ folks. He has been a foster parent since 2016 and loves spending time with his family having fun at home or camping and finding outdoor adventures. He is an avid quilter.
