Dr. Alina C. Whitmore is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Clinical Psychologist (Psy.D.). Her professional career has provided her with opportunities to work clinically with diverse populations in a variety of treatment settings, such as specialty correctional institutions for mothers and babies, residential living facilities for youth, K-12 schools, universities, community mental health clinics, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), and hospitals. Dr. Whitmore’s specialty areas include working with parents of children ages 0-5, adolescents, Transitional Age Youth (TAY), and providing intensive family-based interventions. Dr. Whitmore conceptualizes individual and collective needs through an ecological framework that considers the interaction between culture, community, human difference, trauma, and involvement in various systems of care –and the influence of these interactions on individual and collective well-being. Dr. Whitmore is committed to devoting her work and time to being a voice for underserved, underprivileged, and marginalized communities. She helps lead grassroots efforts and non-profit initiatives to advocate for others and promote lasting change.
